Storyboards with Code

Every child has a story — now they can code it.

Grades 1–3

Why This Course?

Coding is the foundational literacy of the digital age. This course teaches your child to think computationally, break down problems, and create solutions through structured, project-based programming. Kids design visual storyboards and bring them to life with Scratch. Learn sequencing, narrative design, and basic coding through storytelling. By the end of this course, students will have built real projects and developed confidence in their ability to create with technology.

What Your Child Will Learn

Course Content

Explore story structure — beginning, middle, end — and brainstorm ideas for your own tale.
Sketch a scene-by-scene storyboard on paper to plan characters, settings, and plot beats.
Open Scratch with a storyteller's eye — learn how sprites and backdrops become characters and settings.
Create speaking characters using say and think blocks, and design expressive costumes for each one.
Build multiple backdrops and code smooth transitions so your story flows from scene to scene.
Record narration or add music to set the mood and bring emotional depth to your story.
Use loops for repeating story elements and events to trigger key moments in the plot.
Add branching paths so the reader can choose what happens next, creating a choose-your-own-adventure.
Combine all your skills to code a complete interactive storybook from cover to closing page.
Read your story aloud to classmates, demo the interactive parts, and celebrate your storytelling.
