G56-7 - Introduction to Robotics (Arduino)

Grades 4–6

Why This Course?

Robotics bridges the digital and physical worlds. By building and programming robots, your child develops engineering thinking, spatial reasoning, and hands-on problem-solving skills that transfer across disciplines. Explore the fundamentals of Arduino Hardware & Programming (block-based) through simulations and hands-on activities. Build some smart devices which will sense the environment and respond accordingly. By the end of this course, students will have built real projects and developed confidence in their ability to create with technology.

What Your Child Will Learn

Course Content

Introduction to Arduino, TinkerCAD and Mixly IDE
Venture into voltage, Current, and Electricity. Learn to build a Circuit.
Inputs and Outputs with Arduino. Digital Input
Let's learn about Pushbutton.
Interfacing Multiple LEDs with push-button and Arduino
Students will acquaint themselves with the concept of PWM (Pulse width modulation). They will learn how to read an analog input pin, map the result to a range from 0 to 255, use that result to set the pulse width modulation (PWM) of an output pin to dim or brighten an LED and print the values on the serial monitor of the Arduino
Students will familiarize themselves with the * configuration of RGB LED. * interfacing of RGB LED with Arduino to generate colours. * generate different colours by mixing the primary colours (Red, Green and Blue of RGB LED)
Students will use the Light-dependent resistor to sense light levels in real-time
Active and Passive Buzzers
Exploring the science behind ultrasonic sensors and its application
Students will work on their final projects and come up with their problems
Students will present their project in class
